Notes

Seated on rock with flame aureole — classic Fudō Myōō iconography. H. 91 × W. 39 × D. 27 cm. Inscription records Mokujiki counselled the sick by day and carved up to 3 figures per night. Companion Bishamonten at same temple (SC-1806-005). Note: originally catalogued as Bishamonten in error; corrected after iconographic review and verification against source (city.joetsu.niigata.jp/soshiki/ogata-ku/ogata-miryoku-5-1.html).
